epilogue
"You look happier and lighter now."
That was a comment made by a (former) colleague when i went back with a bunch of too-much-time-and-no-aim-in-life-people to our workplace today. It was a sort of mini gathering with almost everyone there. Simple lunch, just some canteen fare. The main point was the talking, isn't it?
In any case, it does feel good not to have the burdens of work (though that means no moolah too). And of course, it wasn't like I hated my work or something. I guess I just needed a respite before Uni. So that was it.
We took lots of stupid shots around the school (and they shall NOT be made publicly available).
And then it was some dinner at PastaM and then some CoffeeB. Now I'm super tired. Off to sleep I go!

I went off to the place on Wednesday to get inducted into my future career. anyway, that wasn't quite the highlight of the day. It was more the Munshi bumping around at Anna's that was the main point. And 'great' is an understatement for the fun we had! (See album through hyperlink). Shall not elaborate much.

An end of a chapter
And thus 18/07/2008 marked the end of an (in my opinion) important chapter in my life, perhaps a significant phase in my teaching career, albeit one that would be interrupted for 5/7 years.
The best part of life, perhaps, is that we can all keep on hoping. Just barely a year ago at about the same time, I wondered what was happening to my life. Save for the fact that I had at least a comforting shelter and family to return to on Friday book-outs, my life was basically in a mess. Every aspect of it was crumbling (or in danger of), and all I could really hope was for time to accelerate so that I might actually see better days.
Which I did.
Today, I look on with a mixture of happiness and sadness at my students - random people who entered my life (or the other way, depending on your perspective) and did much to shape my emotions, mood, thoughts and troubles (no exaggeration). Of course, their chapter in a new phase of life (JC) has just barely begun, while one has just closed while another awaits opening for mine. It is with their best wishes that I prepare to embark upon the next phase of my life, one which I had always been looking forward to (though not as I had hoped, but nevertheless I am grateful). In the same light, I wish of my students (if they are reading this, and some of them will be) the best as well, for they face before them a most stressful period as they make choices (or get chosen) that are of great significance.

Towards the end of my small OBS adventure, I made several promises to myself, which I shall try to accomplish, or more accurately, strive towards (OBS is a great camp to go for).
And the above picture is part of the process of working towards it. My intentions are not clear to some; in fact, near unfathomable to a good many. But I believe that I'm taking decisive steps to work towards a goal that, in my opinion, shall pay off later on. Perhaps we can attribute this to family experience. Family history? Perhaps. Whatever the case is.

I wonder if the next few years of my life can really be a fruitful one. Well, so many things, so little time! In any case, we can't stop hoping, isn't it? ;)

a really contented eejun who has managed to avoid getting sacked in the past 7 months.
