Another majestic sight to behold! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be going to the East Coast where the Niagara Falls are :(

CNY!

Is this the beautiful city that I'm going to SEP for in the later half of this year?

*

Anyway, I've discovered Im the only Arts-NUSian going UBC for SEP (the other one's not counted. haha). Oh well... shall explore have to explore by myself... hopefully there are other NUSians/SGreans from other faculties and schools there!

Cool. this friend of mine always has strong opinions of her own. Will I ever be like this?

Some pics on Marina Barrage & Berlin Wall @ Bedok

Just some pics from the places I visited today for the sake of my term papers!

This is the fountain that visitors to the Marina Barrage will come across when they alight from the Bus. Do take a closer look. It has lots of meaning in it!

Photo contest! I just realised that its a figure of a Man at the top of the sculpture! Go figure out why!

The cityscape would be so much nicer once all the ugly cranes are gone!

I admit that this is one of the most ingenious ways I've ever seen how a non-touristy place is being advertised. I was seriously "ROFL" when I saw it.

Figure out just what exactly "ABC Waters" as a water-management strategy means in the Land of Acronyms!

And then I moved on to the Berlin Wall Panels @ Bedok Reservoir (it's a new thing).

Nestled amidst tranquility.

I'm proud to say that SG has low crime. Note the stuff that were left unattended at the Berlin Wall panels (and yes, spoilt my pictures).

Some random bottom-up shot.

The bags again! Throughout the ten minutes or so that I was snooping around taking photos, no one actually came to see if I was a potential bag-stealer or something. It's amazing.

more random

I always like Ms Mentor's comments. This particular one definitely doesn't showcase her at her funniest (or the most caustic), but -

I have no idea where they located the archives for her all her responses (there's a dead link somewhere). But anyway, try googling "Ms Mentor The Chronicle". You get to read some of the stuff which is downright hilarious.

Whoever said getting together (and then marriage) is only about love, without regard for its practical side, must be an absolute idiot!

Just an interesting blog post that I saw on 'Money as a tool'. There're only 3 simple points, but I think only the first point was interesting (the other two are common knowledge). I never thought (based on the example given) of seeing 'saving'/'investing' for retirement as 'buying time' for retirement. Interesting. Most people just focus on building their retirement nest as a cost/expense-over-time formula. Thinking of it in terms of 'time' is interesting.

Not reading my readings fast enough. But at least something is being done!

random trivia

I learnt during my Visual Culture lecture today that the pyramids built by the ancient Egyptians were supposed to be glazed with limestone (obviously they're gone now) so that it was white, not yellowish. Wow. Imagine how they must have looked like 3000 years ago. Shimmering white megaliths in the brownish desert.
